Lsu Computer Science Student Builds Interactive Lobby Experience

"I'm incredibly thankful that I got to work on such a fun and challenging project that is going to have a real-life impact here at LSU," says Caleb Langley, a first-generation college student and member of the LSU Tiger Marching Band for four years.

Langley, who will graduate this May with a B.S.

in Computer Science from the LSU College of Engineering, has built an interactive digital kiosk that will soon be installed in the lobbies of LSU's Music & Dramatic Arts Building, School of Music Building, and Tiger Band Hall.

Built on LSU's existing content management platform, ModernCampus, the interactive experience consolidates a variety of useful tools and information for visitors and event patrons into an easy-to-use touchscreen format, per a release.

Among the features: a full faculty and staff directory, a touch-friendly version of the 3D LSU campus map, and an interactive list of upcoming LSU performing arts events.

"This new interactive interface will greatly enhance the way our community can explore the opportunities our college has to offer," says Eric Lau, dean of the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts.
