The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's School of Literary and Performing Arts has just launched its first choral conducting symposium, and it's designed "for music educators, graduate student conductors, church musicians, community choir conductors, and any conductors looking to grow as artists," per the event's website.
The July 1-3 event is open to anyone who wants to become a choral conductor, but there are three sections to choose from: full conductor, auditor, and ensemble participant.
Cost: $250 for full conductor, $135 for auditor, $75 for ensemble participant.
"More than any particular session, I look forward to the camaraderie and connections that we will build with one another as colleagues," says Lorissa Mason, one of the faculty members leading the symposium.
Topics at the symposium will include "score study and analysis, commissioning, literature, technique, and more," per the event page.
