Florida's arts community has a new leader: Dennis Dean has been named executive director of ArtsUnited Florida, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
"Dennis Dean brings a wealth of experience and passion for the arts to this vital role, and we are confident that he will lead our organization into a bright future," says the organization's board of directors in a statement.
Dean, a Sylacauga native, has worked in the arts for more than 20 years, including time as executive director of the Florida Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.
"The commitment to fostering artistic expression aligns perfectly with our mission, and their support allows us to provide crucial resources to AUFL artists and enhance our relationships with arts organizations across the state," says the statement.
