Marsden's first novel, So Much to Tell You, was published in 1987, selling record numbers and winning multiple awards.
He is best known to audiences for the Tomorrow Series, which began in 1993 with Tomorrow, When the War Began.
The first novel in the seven-book series was hugely successful in the United States, where it featured on the American Library Association's (ALA) "Best Books for Young Adults" list in 1996.
