The Seattle Center's Artists at the Center program has been offering "emerging artists" the chance to perform for free on the center's campus for the past 20 years, and this year's batch is no exception.

The program, a collaboration between the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture and the center, will offer 10 free performances per month from June to September, the Seattle Times reports.

The idea is to get people out of their homes and into the center at a time when they're more likely to be in crowded places, and this year's shows are no exception: They're taking place in the shadow of the Qwest Center for the Performing Arts, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

The performances are free and open to the public, and the Times notes that this year's line-up includes such big-name acts as the Barenaked Ladies and Beck.
